MPI has trained service technicians at both the Pennsylvania and Colorado facilities. These technicians are trained to go underground across the country and are available to you during critical times (i.e. longwall moves).

Surface Service Technicians

MPI’s mechanical crew has over 22 years experience building, troubleshooting and repairing all of our products. In addition to working on equipment at the shop our technicians often travel to mines, tunnels and construction sites across North and Central America to pick-up and/or drop off equipment, allowing them to speak to the end users of our products.

While your equipment is in our hands our technicians run diagnostic tests to assess the damage. More often than not, they are able to fix the units that day (depending on the issue).

MPI offers a full “Service Exchange” Program so that your operation has only limited downtime. Should your equipment need serviced, we can deliver another unit to you to get you back in production. We will swap the machines out, repair the old one and place it into our “Service Exchange” Fleet. The MPI Service Exchange Program is available only at certain locations.

Underground Service Technicians

All of MPI’s technicians and mangers are trained and available to work underground to assist in repairing units during critical times at your mine. All technicians are certified under US Department of Labor – Mine Safety and Health Administration.

Many longwall coal mining operations use MPI’s portable roofbolters during longwall moves to secure the face prior to pulling the longwall out. The Z Drill hydraulic units are capable to operating off the longwall emulsion fluid and can handle the high pressure. Given the harsh conditions and non-stop running of the roofbolters, maintenance and service is needed on site. During this crucial time we do not have the luxury of shipping the equipment above ground to a surface facility to be repaired and then sent back underground. While underground we attempt to keep the equipment operable.
