Repairs

MPI specializes in lightweight mining and tunneling equipment. This equipment is put in service in some of the roughest conditions imaginable, underground, low visibility, around and against much larger machinery. Imagine what happens when a Z Drill is accidental run over by a miner’s scoop. Is the machine beyond repair? Would it be more beneficial to repair and placed back in service?

Service Exchange Program


MPI offers a full “Service Exchange” Program, ensuring your operation has only limited downtime, if any. Should your equipment need serviced, we can deliver another unit to you to get you back in production. We will swap the machines out, repair the old one and place it into our “Service Exchange” Fleet. The MPI Service Exchange Program is available only at certain locations.

MPI inventories many of the brands and sizes of equipment at our locations. We will work with you to make sure you are back in production as quickly as possible. Please contact us at 412.664.9320 at anytime to Service Exchange your MPI equipment.

Repair Return


If your MPI equipment is in need of repair and time is not of the essence, contact us to schedule a repair appointment. We will work with you to arrange shipment of the unit (s) to our nearest repair facility to properly diagnose the problem.

MPI technicians will troubleshoot and offer written repair quotations (if requested). We will queue the unit for repairs and will return it in a timely manner pending your timeframe.

Shop


Each MPI facility has a complete repair facility. MPI technicians are able to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment we carry. We carry an extensive inventory of replacement, spare parts and test equipment. If necessary:

  • Pneumatic roofbolters are placed on a test bench to verify unit leg pressure and stall force.
  • Hydraulic units are run off our power packs.
  • Hydraulic valves are individually tested and certified.

MPI repair facilities are self-sufficient and a complaint with all OSHA regulations.
