MPI NewsNovember 7, 2008 For Immediate Release MPI purchases Z Drill hydraulic roofbolter worldwide manufacturing rights and patents from Perforator GmbH and Schmidt, Kranz & Co. GmbH. The complete line of the Z Drill portable lightweight roofbolters is now manufactured at MPI's facility near Pittsburgh, PA for worldwide distribution. Z Drills are used in underground applications from coal and hard rock mines to tunnels. The Z Drills are capable of operating directly off longwall hydraulics or off the PTO's of scoops, loaders, etc. MPI's Z Drill product family includes the:
Z Drills are widely recognized around the world and are known for their performance and durability in tough underground environments. Z Drills are perfect for applications when it is unnecessary or impossible to use larger bolting machines (i.e. on the longwall face, on the rib side of the beltline, spot bolting, etc.). With a Z Drill, there is no need to use production machines for peripheral work, saving production time or even a fine for unsupported top. Z Drills are currently in production in the USA and are available for worldwide sale. MPI's trained technicians and sales team will help determine the correct Z Drill for particular applications. MPI offers rental programs and a unique "Service Exchange" program, currently available only to US customers. Click here to download this story in PDF format. September 24-26, 2008 MPI MINExpo 2008 Recap MPI would like to thank everyone, friends, family, partners, clients, and future customers who stopped to see us at the show. We had a tremendous turnout of support. There was much interest in the products on display. Our technicians demonstrated the new MPI Block Splitter. Show attendees always stopped to watch the splitting. The unit generated much interest, specifically with mines using solid block. The first ever American made Z Drill was on display at the show. MPI purchased the manufacturing rights and patents to make the entire Z Drill family of products. MPI also had its Australian partnering company Rambor at the show. Rambor is the manufacturer of the King Cobra product line. Peter Mastalir, Managing Director of Rambor brought his colleague, David Hoff, Managing Director of PPK, Rambor's parent company. Rambor showcased the New Cobra Non-Lube Roofbolter. We are looking forward to the next MINExpo show, MINExpo 2012. Click here to download this story in PDF format. April 7, 2008 For Immediate Release MPI introduces the Block Splitter, a revolutionary way to safely and quickly split concrete block for mine ventilation stoppings and other construction projects. The Block Splitter eliminates the need for hammers, chisels, picks and axes when cutting solid concrete block underground. The block is placed between the blade and table base, the blade is manually lowered on to the block and the handle is pressed down. The block is split safely and straight. In addition to its safety benefits, the Block Splitter also speeds up production. The older way of cutting block with a hammer and chisel takes time measuring, scoring and cutting the block. Often times, the block does not split as intended. The Block Splitter allows users to create a uniform edge on every block placed in it, eliminating waste and speeding the splitting time. The Block Splitter is completely self sufficient, operates manually, weighs 126 lbs. and accommodates up to18 inch solid block. It is easily transportable within the mine. The Block Splitter is an economical solution to assist mines with their safety initiative while increasing production. Please view our video of the Block Splitter in action by clicking here. |
