MPI will be in attendance at Longwall USA 2011 in Pittsburgh, PA (Booth 1030), June 21st - 23rd. Longwall USA is the only trade show designed specifically for longwall mining.
MPI's Z Drill and the new King Cobra Top Mount Roofbolter with dust collection heads will be at Booth 1030 along with the MPI Dust Collection System. Our new portable hydraulic and pneumatic powered saws will also be on display.

MPI introduces the BlockSplitter™

MPI introduces the BlockSplitter™, a revolutionary way to safely and quickly split concrete block for mine ventilation stoppings and other construction projects. The BlockSplitter™ eliminates the need for hammers, chisels, picks and axes when cutting solid concrete block underground. The block is placed between the blade and table base, the blade is manually lowered on to the block and the handle is pressed down. The block is split safely and straight.
In addition to its safety benefits, the BlockSplitter™ also speeds up production. The older way of cutting block with a hammer and chisel takes time measuring, scoring and cutting the block. Often times, the block does not split as intended. The BlockSplitter™ allows users to create a uniform edge on every block placed in it, eliminating waste and speeding the splitting time.
The BlockSplitter™ is completely self-sufficient, operates manually, weighs 126 lbs. and accommodates up to 18 inch solid block. It is easily transportable within the mine. The BlockSplitter™ is an economical solution to assist mines with their safety initiative while increasing production.
